Identifying barrel fouling / pitting
Gentlemen,

Could anyone help me identify barrel problems: heavy copper fouling, frosting, barrel surface crazing and pitting?

The area of interest / concern is the barrel throat, the first inch or so of lands.

I do not have a bore scope and am relying on torches and holding the rifle upto a light source: electric light or sunny sky.

I realise the light bulb is giving me a yellowish light because the colour sheen is absent when viewed with natural light.

Could some one direct me to a website providing images of these sorts of problems. I have found the KG Industries web pages, but all I could see was heavy copper fouling.

Thanks.
