Does anyone use G96 to clean rifles?

I have it. It is a regular gun oil. Nothing special. You can use it to clean off some soot and sweat just like with any other oil.

it isn't a copper remover, but it will get down under those fine little spots of rust other stuff won't.

I like it as the final wipe down oil after cleaning.

I like G96. Haven't seen any for sale locally for years though. I would buy it if I did.

I had an uncle who swore by it and a grandfather who was a hopes man. the aroma of them mixed together while cleaning guns was heaven to a small guy.
