MinkmanRemoving the stock from a Winchester model 52
I'd like to do a thorough cleaning and heard that removing the stock on a '39 52 is difficult for various reasons. One, the magazine release is a bear. Two, it could affect the accuracy. Three, I saw a manual and it said to never remove the stock.
What does the group say?
Thanks

N E 450 No2Don't remove the stock.
If it "ain't broke" don't fix it.

MinkmanThanks N E 450 No2, it just bothers me that I can't/won't know what's under there. A stock certificate(shares), treasure map, or worse yet rust. Usually it's only a name & address or extra ammo under the butt plate. You never know. But I do like to clean under my stocks(wood) every once and a while.

Knowing that, removing it would be pretty foolish
