Magazine lubricant?

Magazine lubricant?

Just wondering if any of you use a solvent-free lubricant in your magazines to aid operation. If you do, what do you use?

If the magazine is made of metal I use EEZOX.
It rust protects and it dries so it's less attractive to dust and dirt.

On plastic magazines I use 303 Protectant.
It is made for plastics and is very slippery.
Internal steel springs still get a wipe with EEZOX and the sliding or rubbing plastic parts get a wipe with the 303.

I think all metal surfaces on a firearm should be clean,lubed and then the excess lube wiped off.In my bolt rifles I know use FP-10.I find it last longer and gives better lubrication than Rem oil,shooters choice-rust-off,and Wd-40.

Thanks for your experience. I have rarely used anything beyond Hoppe's Gun Oil for my cleaning purposes, but when it comes to magazines, I don't think Hoppe's is a good pick. I had considered using Hornady Case Lube spray because it seems to be a light lubricating wax. But then I think of the cold weather problems, and resist the temptation.

EELOX and FP-10 are intereting products. Still, the Gunslick Graphite is something I would feel more comfortable with, considering that I will have ammo in the magazines for a long period of time.

Maybe I should ask how many people clean and lube their magazines.

I clean my magazines with Prolix.
It is a cleaner and a lube.

It dries leaving a dry lube behind.

I have also cleaned them with Break Free. It also will dry.

As RVL III stated, you do not want any "juice" inside your magazines...

Thank you, gentlemen. Most of the products suggested are readily available at my local gun shops, and a few are not.

I have found little specific information about cleaning magazines on the internet. ONe site recommended cleaning, but no lubrication. That used to be my method. too. But I have decided to try dry lubrication in my Sigma mags, since I have had a few feeding issues while target shooting with it.
