Best lube for a 1911?

I have been using the white Tetra grease for years now. Good stuff. Stays put.

Agree with ATF fluid; I mix it half and half with STP.

STP is some SLIPPERY STUFF and won't wipe off. I have used that same combo for 50 yrs. from engine./trans./hyd. assembly.
Also, everything on my old lathe and select firearm applications. Good STUF!

Inasmuch as many LE personnel carry the Mexican carry under a suit coat, how do you lube and keep your shirt and pants clean??? in which case your supervisor would give you 100 lashes at the post???
