Deep Space Hunterlubing the barrel with graphite?
The other day I came across some references to using graphite for a barrel lube before shooting to lubricate the bullet or prefoul the barrel. Has anyone done this? Any thoughts, concerns, advice?
From what little I read, the theory was this works better than a liquid lube because they are mostly made of petroleum products and in the heat and pressure of the shot they are turning in the carbon fouling that is burned to the barrel.

DocEdMany BR shooters use a product known as "Lockease", on a patch, as a final step before firing the first shot on a clean barrel.

AtkinsonAll this stuff they recommend shooting down the barrel causes barrel wear..just let the bullet do that for you, no need to lube a barrel and graphite or other stuff polishes, polishing is barrel wear, end of story.
