I have an older rifle cleaning set and a shotgun cleaning rod that were both made by Outers. However, the new jags and swabs that I purchased won't fit on them. Do you know what threading Outers used and if there are any adapaters available for them or if the rods can be rethreaded to 8-32 or 5/16-27 threading?

Check Midway -- may have to get the huge catalog out. Also try Brownell's.

Outer's has the bastard threading.

Lose that Outer's rod and get a industry standard 8-32 threaded rod instead.
