Rich -

How about letting US rest in peace?

We are not disresepecting her, simply trying to determine what actually happened to her, and hoping that some poor man doesn't carry gulilt which is not rightfully his lot to bear. We also hope that IF it wasn't him, the right person IS found.

As to her, I seriously doubt she hears us or that we are bothering her in any way. I also believe she too, if she CAN hear/see any of this, would also like to know for sure what happened, and would not want anyone to wrongfully get the blame for it.

Perhaps, if there is another post on this subject, you might do yourself the favor of not opening and reading it. It will probably make it easier for YOU to bear as well.

A nephew was accidentally (unintentionally, accidents usually involve carelessness) shot by a high school friend hunting deer several years ago. His friend felt so bad, that he committed suicide about ten years after.

The truth will come out at the hearing, you just won't likely be able to entertain yourself with speculation like you are now.

Think about getting a life of your own. What you are doing here is a version of the grocery store tabloids. If it were your family member you probably wouldn't enjoy reading about it in every forum by a bunch of people who couldn't pick you out of a two person lineup.

The apparent difference between us is that I take no joy in discussing sad stories like this one.

That is absolute bullshit Rich and you know it, or should. There is a world of difference between playing tabloid writer and reminding folks that they should not be trying a man in the press when they don't know all the facts and CAN'T yet know them....which "reminding" is what I was and am doing on this subject.

If it were your family member you probably wouldn't enjoy reading about it in every forum by a bunch of people who couldn't pick you out of a two person lineup.

AS usual, you think you are some special example of a tolerant "victim", don't you? My favourite cousin was murdered in San Francisco, so you have no idea what i would think in a situation such as occured to this girl.

The apparent difference between us is that I take no joy in discussing sad stories like this one. And never will.

Then, pray tell, why ARE you still discussing it here and taking it as an opportunity to play self-rightous superior being over all the rest of us?

I think you DO enjoy it, just in a narcisstic way.

Albert,

I carry even inside my own home. The weapon goes in my pants pocket.

Why don't you spend a couple hours calling every member of your family to ask how they feel this very minute about the murder? Then do it again every day for a month or two. Then report back to us all here about how much the family looks forward to your every day calls dredging up what is likely the saddest event in their lives.

Idle speculation on loss of life is the next sickest thing to child porn.

you are such a worthless scrote...

Idaho SS, welcome to my ignore list. After reading your posts in this thread, it has come to my attention that you are one who loves to bathe in self pity.

I am sorry you lost a nephew to a firearms incident. I did, too... to suicide. At age 17. Get over it.

Like I said: welcome to my ignore list. You are in good company...

Rich, you have some nerve calling me worthless.

I remember well why you left a certain schuetzen rifle tournament held in Oregon. I was there that day, and the Match Director told me the details about it too. I also know why you no longer write for Precision Shooting.

My extended family and I often talk about my cousin's murder. We have even recently been discussing calling the SFPD Cold Case Squad to see if we can get the investigation fired up again.

So, why don't you please just go away?
You have no clue what you are rattling on about.

And, I was NOT practicing idle speculation. I was pointing out that many things could have happened, and that as yet we have no right to condemn a man, even one who has now been charged, until the facts are made clear in a court of law and a verdict made public. If you trace this thread back to its origins, you will find that is what I have been saying from its very beginning.

Rich you haven't a clue

I have a cousin who was murdered 30 years ago
3 coronial inquests , a person named , that person is still walking the streets. A very large family talks about it regularly & 2 detectives refuse to let the case go cold.

The family & the officers involved regularly get the story in the press.
It actually involves child porn & worse.

You haven't a clue

there is typically only one person who does not want facts in a death to be determined & discussed......the perpetrator/culpable person.
........lessons are learnt from the event.

Closure for those most intimately involved comes from determining the facts.
closure for those with a peripheral interest comes with the presentation of those same facts.

There are thousands of deaths on the roads each year somebody dies & somebody is culpable & you don't think that other drivers should have an interest in the facts surrounding those deaths, or the unfortunate events presented in any media & potentially others learn from them.

32 years ago a small child died at Ayres Rock
a woman went to jail for murder
32 years later it was determined that a Dingo did it.

you don't think that woman wanted the facts determined & discussed , that others who did the same things she did , did not have an interest in the facts. Those facts influenced their behaviour & far beyond the specific location of that particular event.

I cannot express how lowly I regard your attitude in this thread.

This forum is for information on the cleaning of firearms and shooting related items. Why don't you two take your little "who has the biggest set of balls" to somewhere private so the rest of us don't open a thread hoping to find something useful and instead get a pissing contest between to extremely childish men, (and I should use that term with hesitation).

Alan, if you followed this thread, you would find it deals with a situation in which the cleaning of a firearm may have resulted in a death. That was the subject matter until one member posted a lecture to the rest of us who were discussing what potentially happened, in which lecture he was questioning our morals and intent.

It HAS clearly strayed from the original subject. Such things happen.

I am sure if it is too offensive to too many, the moderator will step in. So, my suggestions to you are,

1. Let the moderator do his work as he sees fit.

2. Now that you know the content of this thread, simply don't open it if you see more posts to it.

Hopefully, future posts on this subject will return to what evidence is turning out to show DID really occur.

AC:
Yes, I am well aware of what this is about, but you and Rich seem to be just trading insults. There is another thread, right beneath this one, addressing the same accident. What does Rich leaving some sort of match, which you so nicley pointed out, have to do with the situation with the Amish girl? Why can't Rich discuss it here?
This happening during a gun cleaning incident and then you saying it has something to do with this forum is sort of like saying that when there is a shooting accident in Africa, it should be posted on the big bore forum since it happened, most likely, with a big bore rifle. You asked Rich to drop it, and yet you get all pissy with me when I say the whole thing should be dropped.
I realize we have moderators, but I also realize those moderators should deal with more important issues other than those that you seem to have with Rich.

"We All Have To Go Through This Every Time We Shoot. So Anyone Who Has Any Suggestions Of Making Gun Cleaning Faster Or Easier Is Welcome To Post It Here"

The above is what this forum is labled for. Where does this whole thread fit that description?

Alberta Canuck
Alan, I don't think I got pissy with you. I was trying to clarify what was going on. I did not start either of these threads, but I believe they may have been posted here because the death may have occured as an unintended conmsequence of the way a man cleaned his rifle.

As to Mr. Kayser's leaving a match and its bearing on the girl, two two are not connected. I just didn't take well to being called worthless by him, of all people, or having all of us lectured by him.

He can discuss that here if he wants to. I doubt he will. And I won 't. I was just reminding him that folks who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

As to your Africa/big bore hypothetical incident, I suspect that if a person was killed by such an occurance, shooters here might be very interested in finding out what happened and if there were any lessons to be learned from it.

I'm sorry if that irritates you. I hope that things in the future here do not. But your feelings are something I have no control over. Only you can do that.

I hope you have a nice evening.
