holzaugeGun vise for AR cleaning
I have a new custom AR-15-style rifle with two uppers. It/they are the first AR-15-style rifles I've needed to clean in 40+ years. I have discovered my gun vise/clamp does not serve the purpose of holding the uppers upside down for cleaning very well. They end up resting on the scope knobs and flopping around precariously when I use the cleaning knobs. As many people as use these rifles now days someone must have come up with a solution. What do you guys use?

holzaugecleaning rods vs. cleaning knobs. Good grieif!
There is a vice called a "Bisley" made by Prechtl out of Germany and I believe sold by Brownells. It clamps on a bench and can be rotated at different angles, both square steel vice jaws and corked curved jaws. Not sure if it would work for an upper but I would think so. Info and pics at link, WH Dom.
Waffen PrechtlI use the plastic mag insert in a swivel bench vise.
