Hugh WTerry Carr Zebra Rugs
Terry,
OFF Topic, but please post some pictures of your zebra rugs. I searched for them and found the old thread, but no photos. I am trying to show them to my taxidermist. Thanks. Hugh

T.CarrI assume you are talking about the rug with the leather border. It is my understanding that not all taxidermists can do this. You have to have a certain kind of sewing machine that can sew leather. Jerry Huffaker does his own leather trimmed rugs along with at least one other taxidermist in Texas (can't remember their name). Most taxidermists have to send their rugs off to someone else to have the leather trim added. At least that is what I am told.
Here are the two other rugs without the leather border (felt backed).
If you need anything else, let me know and I can go take a picture.
Regards,
Terry

Charles_HelmIs there anything other than the leather trim that you would have done? I have seen some people talk about a carpet backing. I am still not sure where the heck I will put mine (one of my daughters is trying to claim it) once it is done, but Mr. Huffaker will be doing it and I am curious if there are other things I should be looking for.
Thanks.

McCrayAnother place that does this type of work is...
http://www.wildlifeartistry-texas.comThis isn't and endorsement or anything, I just have the webpage bookmarked!

Good luck.

T.CarrJerry uses a synthetic backing on the rugs. It is better than the felt because it holds the rug's shape better, doesn't allow the rug to slip around on smooth floors and doesn't collect dirt as bad as the felt backing.

Terry

Thanks.
My Father had his done with a carpet back and leather around the edges. Shawn Andres of Alpine Artistry did the rug and did a beautiful job. He is in Ravalli, Montana. Do a search and you will find his name.
Mink and Wall Tents don't go together. Especially when you are sleeping in the Wall Tent.
