Nuanetsi Group Hunt - Aug 2013
Just 5 short years ago, I asked myself, "When will this area be good enough to have quality hunting again...10-15 years...more..???" The reason why I asked this was because Nuanetsi, at the time, was rather bleak to say the very least. 5 years later and after some much needed TLC to Nuanetsi and I have my answer...

Please forgive me if I do not follow the standard format of the hunt reports giving all details of calibers, optics etc.

In August '13, a fantastic group of folks from the US came on their Safari which they had booked through Chifuti Safaris - they would be staying in the Mbizi Camp which is on the banks of the Mwenezi River in the northern part of the Nuanetsi concession.

Guiding this group would be 5 of Chifuti Safaris's PH's, namely - Mark Vallaro, Richie Schultz, Keith Wall, Clint Edwards and Ant Howland (who is doing very well by the way!). In 12 days the group managed to bag some awesome trophies - thought you may like to see some photos!

This Dagga boy was recovered the following morning after a shot at last light

Some fine Buff!

18" Bosses

Beautiful Old Nyala Bull

24" Impala shortly after the old Nyala was bagged!

Old Stallion at last light

Nice Impala

These guys hunted hard for their perfect Kudu and finally got him...

7ft 5" 'Mr Spots' after several nights in the blind

Father and Son Nyala bulls in consecutive days

Not bad for a young Lady who had never shot anything before...

4 Waterbuck shot in as many days...awesome quality!!!
32 1/2"

31"

34"

Just under 30"

Great Old "Stinkbull"

Some classic plainsgame trophies

Nyala with a beautiful Bell shape..

13ft 1" Flat Dog!

My Congratulations to all the hunters on an outstanding 12 day Safari on Nuanetsi!

Cheers,
Brent

Brent ..congratulations on all fronts. The only thing I see that remains for Nuanetsi is to get lion and elephant to huntable levels..that will take a few more years.

Very nice! I'm particularly envious of the civet, porcupine and wild cat.

Beautiful animals!

Those Nyala are making me jealous. Nyala may have to be next on the list.

Congratulations.

When faced with empirical proof such as this it is hard to claim that hunting is not currently the most efficient means to the end of game conservation. You have gone even further by revitalising a previously empty concession. Thank you for helping to prove the case for all of us.

Good luck for the future.

Beautiful trophies all. Nuanetsi is a real success story in conservation, and I take my hat off to all those involved in making it the place it is today. BZ!

Wow, now your teasing me. I just got back and the day before I left I traded my binos for a giraffe much like this one to be sorted out on my next visit. My daughter is eyeing a nice giraffe ottoman and lamp. Congrats again, by the way love the buffs too.

Thanks!

Brent how far off is Nuanetsi from taking and protecting a rhino population similar to BVC?

Hey Mitch - We would have already been working on it, if it weren't for the level of poaching it sadly attracts. The species (Rhino) is, however, in desperate need of help (obviously) and we as custodians need to afford them a chance to multiply so we will try and introduce them when the time for us is right, maybe a couple years. It's a case of needing to walk before running....

That is understandable..how about the 2nd strand of fencing that would open the door to lion reintroductions?
