If you are really in the game you could translate the "youtube" video perfectly WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING A WORD OF THE LANGUAGE BEING SPOKEN.

The language of African Hunting is understood by those in the game.

Good video; for myself the video portrays hunting and not just killing, the art of stalking, the discipline of accurate shooting (although no shooting is shown), the celebration and satisfaction of a successful hunt, the admiration of the killed quarry.

I think the video speaks for itself.

I was here several times.
You can go there with the san and watch their hunt. They hunt, they hunt real, no show!!
They start in the morning with 4 - 8 people, watch for an animla, track them down, shot this poison-arrow and track them down again.

Great to see.

And:
It cost you only 10 Dollars a day.
And some Coca Cola (they are gracy about that) as an tipp.

these San live in Buschmanland and are allowed to unt with their weapons and poisons there. Here in the farming area this is not allowed. They work as trackers on our hunting ranch.Our family has been in the area from 1903 and most of us speak the San language of the San living in this area.
The San are losing their skills at an express rate as they do not have to hunt to obtain thier livihood.
By promoting the tracking skills,
we are trying to keep these skills alive as well as the knowledge of the foods they used to gather.
Through keeping skill and traditions alive they will not lose too much before it is tooo late!!!
Most trackers do not like to wear their traditional dress as they consider it less worthy than western clothing!
For the film they dressed and if asked they will do so too!

what about a leopard hunt with the San?

i watched San trackers follow up a gemsbok that i wounded in the Kalahari( in Botswana) a few years ago for 12 kilometers( according to the GPS). we finally caught up to him after he had weaved in and out of several herds and closed the deal. it was the most amazing bit of tracking i have ever seen in 10 safaris in 6 countries. there was almost no blood trail, just footprints...

The San trackers are good. My husband worked with them during the bush war.As the family settled here in 1903 they have a great knowledge of the San and also speak their language.Unfortunately alcohol and modern civilization is destrying a great deal of their skills and knowlege.They are a great people!

The San: the best in the business

I train with some SAR tracking guys. I believe our tracking scale is based on these guys in the video.
We have 1 or 2 guys in the US who are instructors. And they are students of the guys in the bush. Of course, we all consider ourselves students.

A great deal of the young children are loosing their skills. It is so sad!
We are thinking of staring a tracking school but we do not have the means to do so. Any ideas as to how to collect these means?

The military and police will pay for tracking classes.

College students in the right field will also pay for classes.
I teach on occasion, but I don't charge. My skill level is reflected in my fee.

All of the tracking instructors I know started out doing it part time until they got their names established.
