A very interesting report. I've hunted many times in Nuanetsi in 2002/2003 when I shared the quota in the Mbizi concession with Boet Van Aarde. What a wonderful place was! Plenty of plains game with a very high trophy quality and big leopards.
Unfortunately after few years the area was over hunted and the game was greatly reduced, specially the cats and the biggest antelopes. I'm curious to know how is the situation now? Also once ther was only a small herd of buffaloes in the whole area. How many buff you have seen?

MANDLAZIMHendrick - congratulations again to you & Fanus! That pic of you 2 gents with all your trophies against the skinning shed wall just show you hunted hard and were well rewarded for your efforts!! I certainly wouldn't worry about your Bushbuck "record" for Nuanetsi as it will take a near world record to beat that (Keith's German client bagged a 17" ram yesterday - beauty!)
Cheers

Well Shanks that's taken care of the winter blues.
Looking forward to catching up over a beer Hendrick.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to leave the kids home alone for 3 weeks and sneak off with Sue next week as she departs for a 20 day bush pilot trip in Southern Africa.
Count me in for round 2, if you can tolerate having an archery hunter about.
What do you think Shanks you bring your stick thrower as well and Hendrick can back us up!
Yeah, I'll bring my stick thrower, but I might borrow Hendrik's Merkel.

I'm definitely up for that, just let me know when and I'll book my tickets!

I'm sure there are a few more monsters lurking around. How's Keith doing on the buff?

Hendrick, they bagged a 38" Dagga boy the first afternoon out (Kieth all too happy to be sporting his newly aquired .470 on the Buff hunt!!!!) One of the other hunters bagged a 40" bull the very next day.

Begno - if it means having another good hunting area for all of us hunters to enjoy by doing good for the area/wildlife, we'll keep at it!!
Glad you enjoyed Hendrick's report.

TrackersNZHey well done. Some excellent trophies. Regards Tim Buma.

Great hunt, Allan and his crew are great to work with. I see they are wearing the hats we left them in March but we cant take credit for Martins headgear. Hey Mark that bushbuck brings back memories of the first time we met on our first hunts in Africa.
Somebody has got to buy Allan a winch!

LittleJoeGreat story. Great pics. I have to keep looking at the really cool hat that is worn. That makes me belly laugh every time I see it. Congrats on the buff and hippo. Very high on my bucket list. That bushbuck is a hog. Huge. Good job. Congrats.
As my kids would say, that is an " TOTALLY AWESOME"

hunt and report. Congrats. CM just keep churning out the most amazing hunts don't they

MARK H. YOUNGGunny,
That monster bushbuck you took got me interested in that species. I've taken six since that first safari and five different varieties but none to measure up to yours or Henriks.

sdirksHoley-moley, that's a big bushbuck!! Congratulations!
Hey Mark, That was the first and last one I ever shot. Seems I waste all my time chasing elephants now. Seems Allan is having his best year yet. Can't wait to see haw he does in the Ngamo Forrest area in September.

David HulmeWhat a fantastic hunt, congratulations Hendrik and all involved! Just enjoyed reading the buffalo hunt paragraph, eish... What a grand bull, and am just speechless re the bushbuck..Excellent. So fine to see Nuanetsi back on track. I worked there in the late 1990s and certainly the sections we were hunting on - HQ and Matibi - were well on their way out then...
Well done you guys, David
