As T. Carr stated Botswana is very expensive. When you combine that with a couple more weeks in SA it is a small fortune. As for just the cost of a elephant hunt in Botswana that could generate a very big elephant I beleive it could be done for about $36000.00 total for 14 days. Actually it was a side brain shot taken from behind the ear through that cluster of veins that feed the ear. Gives you a double chance at a killing shot.
