ChasseurWhere to hunt both Buffalo and kudu?
Hi,
Can anyone recomend a good place and outfitter for a relatively short (7-10 day) buffalo and kudu hunt. I'm not too interested in going to Zim until things get better there, and Tanzania requires the 21 day safari for kudu and no way thats possible. So I've been thinking of Zambia or Mozambique. Don't mind adding an impala or bird hunting in, but I'm not interested in a big bag of plains game.
Any thoughts/suggestions? I'm still in the planning/distant future stage.
Thanks!

baboonbreederHi Chasseur,
Well I know you said that you are not interested in Zim, but honestly - value for money and all that, I reckon that thats your best option. If you dont want to go through Harare and couldnt be bothered to go through Vic Falls, then you could always fly into Johannesburg, take a light aircraft charter to Buffalo Range Airport where you clear customs and then take a drive for 1 to 3 hrs(depending on where you hunt) before you are in your hunting camp and checking the zero on your rifles...good buff and kudu...plus a bunch of smaller game that you could use to fill out your days if you get lucky with your prime targets early in the hunt!
If you are still in the distant/early planning stage I reckon you wouldnt be doing yourself a disservice just making some preliminary enquiries now anyway and that way you can always just kiss off whichever option appeals to you less at the end of the day...
Good luck and let me know if you would like any other int.
Cheers,
Andy

HunterJimChasseur,
You can definitely do a Cape buff and kudu in Moz. I was talking recently with Jose' Marten from Inhaminga about the same hunt for a client.

Adam ClementsChasseur, I would highly recommend a great safari in Botswana for Buffalo and Kudu. It will be a little higher priced than Zimbabwe, but well worth the money. You hunt the buffalo in the Okavango Delta as well as the kudu. It is a great hunt if you are looking for another country to hunt. E-mail me if you want some details on Botswana.

Frans DiepstratenChasseur,
The Luangwa valley in Zambia is an area to consider. It's got plentiful buffalo and kudu, and you could hunt impala, waterbuck, reedbuck, zebra, warthog, and many more on the side. Minimum 7 day trip needs to be booked for a buffalo hunt.
E-mail me (terrahunt@yahoo.com) if you want me to put you in touch with an outfitter, or for more general information about the area, itinerary, etc. One of our clients returned very happy with a buffalo, bushbuck, waterbuck, and impala, from a 7 day trip. He's booking again in a different area in Zambia with the same outfitter to go after a few other species.
