lenglengLook at my mounts from SA Honeymoon hunt
Last May when I returned from my awesome honeymoon/safari I posted a link to my webshots page to show off the animals I got. Well I just added the mounts of those animals to the page, take a look! What does everybody think? Hope my links work, one of them should take you there.

Jim ManionNice trophies! That kudu is definitely one of a kind.
I am glad I looked at the pics - wasn't sure what I was going to find from a post inviting folks to look at pics of one's honeymoon mounts...

Where abouts in SW PA are you?

lenglengHA HA yeah I wont post any of those mounts!
I live about 45 min south of Pittsburgh, town called Smock.
Thanks for the compliments.
I did not get a pic of the skull but I did see it.
Does this look like quality taxidermy work to everybody?

Kyler HamannThose look nice. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
That third horn on the kudu is cool. Mine had something similar to that. I made great use of it because my hunting parter took a much larger bull than mine but I kept teasing him that his was very nice for a kudu with only TWO horns.

WoodhitsMy kudu has the same 3 horn configuration, maybe we can start our own scoring system.
lengleng,
Where was this hunt?

Badger MattSounds like great hunt. Congrats on the nice trophies and a nice lookin' gal who actually hunts!!! Please pass along our congrats on her first critter (saw the blooding on her face).
Nice taxidermy as well. You ought to try the taxidermy forum and see what, if any, tips the pros might have.

AMAZING!! Wow, congrats to you!
Maybe I missed it, but what are the rifle details? I see you shoot south paw like me.
It is very difficult to tell good taxidermy work with photos, but they look good on my screen. Maybe George Roof will chime in and critique.
Anyway, what a heck of a way to celebrate your honeymoon. (I must admit, I was going to take a crack at the 'honeymoon mount' bit myself).
Careful what you write!

Doc, the rifles are Rem 700's in a 300RUM and a 30-06 (brown one)
Ok, what were you shooting? handloads? factory?
bullet/powder/primer/brass??

lenglengDoc,
I just havent found the time to reload myself. I used factory remington safari grade ammo with 200 gr. Swift A-frame bullets in the 300rum and same in 06' with 180gr. I was able to recover several bullets and they were a perfect mushroom and almost 100% weight retention. Not to mention both of my guns loved this ammo. Shot very very well with it.
You are not the first hunter that has had excellent results with Rem. Safari Grade Aframes.
My bud has a 300 WM shooting the 200s and I must say, his groups are quite impressive from his Abolt
