FutrdocDo I have to wait til I look like Walter to do these types of hunts? or is someone out there going to take pity on a whippersnapper like me and let me "tag along" ...
Until I make it to Tanzania, these stories will keep me satisfied. Thanks for sharing.

LorenzoThis man is killing me slowly...
I must work harder if I want someday to live something similar. It's not only being able to do a trip like this, the best thing it's being able to share it with so many friends in camp !!!!!!!!!!!!

FutrdocThe machan pictures brought back some memories. I hunt with a few rednecks (well educated and wealthy, but rednecks none-the-less) who have tower stands that look as rickety as those machans.

We have been following thta herd since the morning. We caught up with them as they were having their midday siesta.
We went about half a mile downwind and had our lunch. In the afternoon we went back to them. They were still resting, and then they started feeding. Some passing only a few yards from us. In fact, at one stage we though some might pass on either side of us. Luckily the larger part was upwind, and the rest followed.
We kept following them, sometimes running to get in front of them.
But, we never got a chance at a bull until just before sun down, and the result was as you can see above.
Alan Vincent was saying "this is the way to shoot a buffalo this time of day." Drop him in his tracks" as we were walking to it after the shot.
23 days mor before we head on our next adventure with our friends the Vincents.
I hope to have a few more photos and videos when we get back.
