Hunting in Namibia Part 2
This is just a little follow up to my first report on our trip to Keerweder Safaris in Namibia the first of May. We were staying at Keerweder for fourteen days so we decided in the middle to have a rest day with no hunting. We slept in then had a great breakfast. Later Brian Miller the owner advised us that we would have a “little†competition.
He called it the “Boere Sports Competitionâ€. It would be in three stages.
1) Sling Shot Shooting
2) .22 Pistol Shooting
3) Skaap Drol Spitting
Now I know what the first two were, but that number 3 was something we did not figure on. I know everyone knows about watermelon seed spitting well this is the same thing Namibia style. Instead of watermelon seeds they use (I can’t believe I actually put this in my mouth) dried sheep crap pellets. Spit for distance.

Pistol shooting

It was a lot of fun. By the way I got a certificate for a silver medal in the games. Second in spitting, third in slingshot and first in .22 pistol. It was a very proud moment.

Just a few photos of the area.

Why no spitting pictures? After all, you came in second.
Nice to see some different, "knockin' around camp" pictures.
Thanks for posting.

That windmill picture looks right out of south Texas.

I have videos of my son and my PH's son (both 12 years old at the time) putting Springbok pellets in their mouths and having a spitting distance contest. Unfortunately, I don't know how to post videos on this forum.

I understand that Namibia and South Africa are trying to get the International Olympic Committee to accept this as a new event for the next Olympiad. Eeker
