df06Bowhunt in Zimbabwe
I just returned from a too short hunt with Rosslyn Safaris near Bulawayo. This was my first hunting trip to Africa.
In one word this place is "awesome" for bow hunting. I shot five animals in five days. I chose to pass on a couple other animals. Animals taken were warthog, greater Kudu (50" plus), zebra, wildebeast, and Impala. I saw numerous other game and non game animals and birds.
This place is set up with waterhole blinds, both ground level and elevated. The place is I believe 32,000 acres. It is fenced. I did have some aprehension about that but trust me, the animals were wild. There is no cross fences so you are in a roughly eight mile by eight mile chunk of land. You will not see or be hunting near a fence.
The accomodations were quite nice as was the food, wine and overall hospitality.
I likely will return and highly recommend it to those that are avid bow hunters.
If any one has questions PM meor ask here. I have no dog in this hunt other than sharing my experience.
I am not that computer smart on posting pictures. If some one would post them here, I can forward them to you.
Thanks

PennsyltuckyHow dare you hunt out of water holes with a limited range weapon at animals you have never seen before and which you will have to pay for once you draw blood.
Surely you know the proper way to hunt African game with a bow is take at least 3 people, disregard any scent control and cruch around through the bush till you can take a "proper" shot.

chinangaYes. It is the perfect place for a bowhunter. We must have just missed you. I was there with a party of bird hunters just last weekend. I am sure we actually saw "your" warthog at No.5 water hole ?

df06I did shoot that wart hog at blind number 5. Not sure what birds you were shooting, but if it was guinea, franklins or doves of several soecies, you did not get all of them.
