Cruiser Safaris, RSA, July-Aug 2002
This was my first safari (plains game), but it certainly won't be my last with this crew! Everything I expected and more. Cruiser is located between Elisras and Thabazimbi, in the Northern Province. The outfitter/PH is Pieter Lamprecht, and his lovely wife Lizelle and their competent and friendly staff made our stay unforgettable. The other PH on hand is Pieter Lessing, a young man who was fortunate enough to have spent time growing up with the Bushmen of Botswana; it really shows in his bushcraft. We hunted with both of them and they're amazingly competent.

They have, in the past, been booking primarily European hunters, only in the past couple of years promoting their hunts to Americans, and they're really enjoying having us hunt with them. The infrastructure is good, and getting better with the committment from Pieter (can't wait for that hot tub!).

Hey, folks, I'd think that lots of outfitters out there are really good people; it's just that I honestly cannot think of much that I'd change about my trip and the staff and facilities, and I'm pretty darn picky. The hunting was really hunting, but their properties were numerous and productive. The additional sights were awesome, and the food was great.

Species taken: Southern Greater Kudu (2), Blue Wildebeest, Warthog (2), Limpopo Bushbuck, Burchell's Zebra, Impala, Blesbok

Their website: www.cruisersafaris.com. Mr. Bob Clark is their booking agent in the USA; his number and email are on the website. He's a most congenial guy and was very helpful to us.
