Dear friends of the forum,
I wanted to share with you my first hunting experience in Zimbabwe I had last summer. I was in Zimbabwe with my friend and hunter Luca Bogarelli for Buffalo and other Plains Game, accompanied by great PH Terry Fenn and the excellent cameraman Scott Jurgens.
This was my first hunt for one of the big five ... certainly not the last.

Arriving at Vic Falls airport, after a brief stop of one day at Johannesburg, we were taken by our guests and accompanied by Terry to see the magnificent waterfalls of Vic Falls. In the afternoon we moved to the camp, a beautiful place overlooking a lake where Hippos were snorting and at night you could hear Leopards and Hyena.
The first day was spent setting weapons and having a short ride into the hunting grounds. We saw several animals ... We could not hope for a better start.
The following days we enjoyed some exciting hunting action and pleasant conversation around the fire. My friend and PH Terry Fenn proved to be a formidable hunter and a fantastic host for all the duration of the trip.
Thanks to his skill and true passion for hunting I could shoot my first buffalo at a distance of 15 meters and I had the chance to get closet some big herds at the same distance!
In a week of hunting we were able to take a Buffalo, an Impala, a Zebra, a Warthog, a Watherbuck, a Caracal and two Baboons.
I am convinced that success in hunting should not be measured by the number of animals taken ... but the quality of the hunt itself. This safari was conducted with fair play and in a way which made it thrilling and exciting. Thanks to the talents of Scott, the cameraman, scene by scene I can relive every moment of that wonderful experience!
Unfortunately ... because marriage this year ;-) I could not reach Terry for another adventure ... but next year I have a reservation with him for another buffalo and …sable! I’m already looking forward!
