Wendell ReichSable, The Video.
Been a while since I posted some new video material from Africa. Just finished editing this one in time for the DSC Show this weekend.
I shot this footage in Mozambique for a good friend of mine in Simon Rogers camp, Safaris de Mocambique, a place I have hunted and worked with for 13 years now. The hunting and quality of animals has gotten better there ever year.
They are beautiful and tough as any plainsgame animal I have ever seen. This hunter used a .416 Rem Mag and all his shots were dead on. First shot wasn't a good angle, but you take what the animal gives you sometimes and the gun/round was capable of the proper penetration and the shooter was more than capable of making the shot.
Enjoy.

505 gibbsWendell,
Your videos are always well done, kudos to whoever does your editing. Are you the one always carrying the jambox in the back playing the music? How much do you charge for that added effect? Congrats to the hunter as well.

I film, I edit and I carry the boombox. It is heavy, but I think it adds a little to the scene.
Music for a scene like that runs about $18/song. most scenes need 3 songs to be done properly. Yes, I know there is free music out there, but you get what you pay for.
Bryn is a great ph, but he's not much for talking when you put the wireless mic on him, he doesn't like that mic at all! Hard to get him to do any kind of interview or get much commentary out of him. Makes for tough editing job.
Thanks for the comments.

D. NelsonWendell;
You missed your calling!!! Should have been a movie maker, but I guess you have the best of both worlds!
Loved the video!

pagosawingnutYes, getting Brynn to talk is like pulling teeth. Either very introverted or just has nothing much to say. He does a good job guiding though.

Bald GuyI hunted with Bryn in 2011. Does not say much, dryer than a popcorn fart, but I can not believe their is a harder hunting PH. Every step I took behind the man was a treat. Yes, it looks like he has bulked up a bit.
