Formal complaint process against PH's & Outfitters
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about ZATSO (Zim Assoc of Tour Safari Operators) and whether they have any real authority-or will-to discipline PH's and outfitters? Has anyone used this agency to successfully resolve disputes with PH's or outfitters?

For the record, I booked several days of after-hunt activities in the Victoria Falls area with The Zambezi Travel Company (a member of ZATSO). This company defrauded me out of $1,300 and failed to deliver on all of the pre-paid tourist activities, essentially abandoning my wife and I in Vic Falls to fend for ourselves.

I submitted the formal complaint through ZATSO and nothing whatsoever was done.

I would contact Don Heath for his recommendation.

ZATSO is no longer in existence - its now called SOAZ Safari Operators Association of Zimbabwe.

If you ahve a complaint - contact them through Don heath or Sally Bown. They are not any formal authority as such but can make reccommendations to National Parks Authority and ZTA Zimbabwe Tourist Authority and if there is a genuine grievance these Authorities could cancel the Safari Operators licence. Its vitally important to submit facts so that they can make a balanced arguement .
