ddrhookdon't they shrink when you wash them or do they just seize up and stop running when you get them wet!!!!!!!!

23 January 2011, 23:46
shakariHey, it's a Landy..... it'll be fine and I'm sure that it was nothing more than pilot error.

All it'll need is pulling out by a Wagoneer, a bit of a clean up, a new battery and it'll fire up again!

23 January 2011, 23:51
ddrhookwould you need a motorcycle battery since the Rover is going to shrink?????

?
24 January 2011, 00:00
shakariPrap's a triple A?
If it'd been a Wagoneer, it wouldn't have got stuck at all.

Landies are the same but in both cases, it's nothing more than scent marking their territories.

24 January 2011, 00:35
ddrhookya I smell so scent marking going on right now

bovine scent

24 January 2011, 00:41

Like someone once said, " The only interesting rifles were accurate ones." Pretty much like Toyotas. A further plus is that they don't spend months on blocks waiting for spares.

Eish but you really know how to hurt a man!

Hey, at least the parts fitted when they finally arrived.
A friend of mine just waited 3 months for an entire axle assembly to arrive from the States for one of his classic cars (I think, a Camero) and when it arrived, it was the wrong one!

God only knows what he's gonna do with it or how he's gonna get the right one!

24 January 2011, 22:47
ScriptusSorry, no pain intended.

Unfortunately I can't argue with that statement.

25 January 2011, 01:07
ScriptusKeeping BP going are you. They got lots to pay for, so oil spreaders are good for business. Helps on the dirt roads too, keeps the dust down.

shakariNo man.... it's deliberate scent marking to keep those Jap crap out of my territory!

25 January 2011, 11:48
.458AubsScriptus, Don, Cross L.....
You are all just jealous about Land Rover Defenders.... hell man at least with a car that leaks oil myself and Steve know when it is out of oil, the minute it stops leaking is the time to put more oil in......
that being said, i would never buy a cruizer to convert it to a double cab - if you buy a land cruizer then keep it at a single cab, otherwise buy a land rover defender 130
on the topic of that river, man not even a rubber duck would cross that stream let alone a land rover defender.
25 January 2011, 16:38
ScriptusAubrey, glad to see that you survived the attentions of the Hook.
Now, jealous of a 'Rover?? Just think of driving up a very steep hill, with a fairly deep, rock lined stream at the bottom, behind you, with ten German tourists on board and the friggen drive shaft snaps. And the friggen hand brake locks up the drive shaft?? These days when I see a Land Rover, my knees vibrate, I have an urge to puke and my tinnitus increases to the extent and volume to that of a Jumbo on the point of rolling down the runway.
Now if you and Steve drive your vehicles until they run out of oil, that could just explain why they spend time on blocks.
Why is a double cab necessary. Folk come to Africa to experience Africa, hot or cold [sometimes a tad freezing], shine or rain. Give them the experience without the expense
Why on Earth would a person in control of a 'Rover do something like that then?? [i.e. cross the stream]

shakariHe certainly wasn't the sharpest tool in the box!

Joking aside for a minute, if what they said on Carte Blanche the other day was true they just let a wall of water loose without considering the consequences.

Isn't that just so typical? "CAUSE AND EFFECT" are unknown to the majority.

shakariMakes you wonder what on earth they were thinking. They were asked to do a series of staggered releases AND told what a disaster they would create if they didn't do that AND what would happen if both dams opened their sluices at the same time...... and they choose the option that causes the most disaster..... AND then blame each other for it!

Thinking-that requires thought processes from an active brain.
