just back from cameroon
I have just returned from a safari with Faro West safaris in Cameroon. Great hunt, pierre went beyond the call of duty to make this a great hunt. being my 24th african trip I was impressed with the camp, food and hunting. giant eland was the main quarry and all three of us in camp shot very good eland. we also shot western roan, buffalo, harnessed bushbuck, western hartebeest, red flanked duiker, oribi, western bush duiker and baboon. i shot a 404 jefferey made by american hunting rifles and it was perfect. I did have a minor accident and everyone was very helpful and after dislocating my finger and tearing up my knee we still managed to hunt 8 days and had a blast. i will try and post pictures as soon as i get my finger operated on but i want the hunting community to know if you want a firat class safari give Faro west a call you will not be dissapointed

Ann,
I believe that's the most appealing Kudu I've ever seen. It's magnificent.

gerry,

Been there and done that last January. I absolutely agree that it is a great hunt and camp. The amount of eland we saw really blew my mind. The cuisine was very nice also.

I realise protein is protein, but ,because I am ignorant, are baboons a regular food for natives? Or do they even eat the flesh?

they loved them. I don't think I would eat them but they do

Mark,

Yeah! Charles wanted me to shoot some baboons for camp meat. They just look too much like my relatives to shoot them.

Gerry, Very nice trophies. The red duiker is a real toad. How did you like walking on the worm mounds?

Kick Ass. The natives were I have been won't eat a baboon, but the cats and monitor lizards are thier favorite. God I wish I could get a LD Eland like that.

thank you guys for the responses. I just want to say to all AR members please make sure if you go on hunts to strange places that you get your DR. to understand the need to be prepared for the worst thing possible. Had I not had the pain medications I would have had to call global assist and get out and they do cover alot but if you look all insurance programs have limits and their definition of needing help. I am not sure a severly dislocated finger and a wrecked knee would get you more than to an african DR. and no thanks, I would rather be here and I know we have healthcare problems but injured I don't really want to go some where else. just a reminder for all the hunting fraternity accidents happen and be prepared.

Great trophies... that Lord Derby Eland is a beaut! Don't know what I would rather have... your LDE or that .404 Jeffrey. Nice, very nice!
