Back from RSA with Sand River Safaris
Just got back from RSA and Sand River Safaris. Very successful hunt. Using a 375JDJ Contender pistol I killed a 52"Kudu , a 32" Eland, Zebra, 2 Impala, a 16" Blesbuck. Was treated like a king the only bad part was the plane ride and the 4 hour wait at the Jberg airport to clear our guns.

These are the pictures gasixgunner sent to me from his hunt at Sand River Safaris. Some very good trophys and an excited hunter!

Sounds like a great hunt. I really like the eland picture, most of the ones I see only show the head and horns, so you can't see how big they really are.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Congrats on some nice trophies. That .375JDJ is a handful but it looks like it did a job on your animals. What load were you shooting and what ranges?

The load used was 52.0 grains of AA2520. The bullet was Sierra 250 grain GameKing. The Kudu was shot at 180 yards. Eland at 140, zebra 120, impala 125 & 80, blesbuck 60. All shots were one shot kills. The kudu ran the farthest and that was only 40 yards. Most everything else was 15 yards or less.
