R. GunnTim--
A great hunt and an even better write up/pictures.Great buffalo and the tuskless is alwsys about the hunt. And that was a huge leopard regardless of how much was left.I think my brother and I saw his tracks in June.
You managed to squeeze in everything (and more) in a ten-day hunt that I did in 18. It looks like all the burning that we did with Myles opened things up a bit. You saw a lot more buffalo and plains game. Dande is a beautiful place and CMc are good hosts.
Congratulations.

sevenmagltd.Tim, we just got in today. One of my guys had tough luck on his buffalo, doesn't always go the way you want it but that's hunting. Another AR member got a massive sable, etc. My son got a huge hyena, porcupine, 29"waterbuck, 15"+ bushbuck and to top it all off a 61 1/2" KUDU! I knew the bull was big when we first spotted him but had promised him first shot on kudu since his first skin had been ruined waiting for TE to ship out. Deep curls, everything you would want in a kudu. We all agreed, this was the best safari ever.
I will do a report on Africa Sky Guest Lodge per your request, stay tuned.

Milo ShanghaiA fine advertisement for hunting.
Glad no one was scratched and that you had the satisfaction of knowing your leopard was brought to book.

nampomTim, great report as always!
Was wondering what happened to the other half of you when I saw the email pics.
Glad you got that great hard boss bull this time round. I was gutted when I heard about the Leopard.

shootawayCongratulations,Tim.I've been waiting for this report for a while, and was hopeing that the video would be available somehow in the future. To tell you the truth,I expected a perfect hunt.I think the way it turned out, made this hunt a special one.I was surprised to here that the leopard was eaten by the lions in no time. The area that you hunted seems really exciting.I've already recounted this report to a few people around here and it gets there attention.I hope your next hunt is just as good as this one.

PalmerOne of the great benefits of a long distance hunt is the motivation to get in shape. You showed the great result that can be achieved when the motivation is there.

Bill CTim, Shame about the leopard, but as you said he was recovered. Worse would have been nicking him, paying the trophy fee, feeling like crap, and having nothing to show for it (ask me how I know!).
It sounds like you guys all had good, quality hunts - glad to hear it but I'd have expected nothing less when hunting with Buzz and company!
I look fwd to when the shows air.
Cheers, Bill

ozhunterCongrats on the hunt with great company.

Must have missed this one as the dates are the same as my last hunt.
Looks like we might catch up this season.

GunsCorePut that monster leopard skull on a nice plaque and then frame some nice blown up photos of you and your leopard. Put them together on a wall in your home and it will look great. Congrats of a fantastic hunt.
STAY IN THE FIGHT!

KPeteTim:
Your report brings back many fond memories. While there in October, Buzz would frequently refer to areas as "this is where Tim got his leopard" and "here is where Tim shot the hyena" (and of course there were locations associated with Mike Jines recent successes, as well).
The camps at Dande are great, along with Buzz and Myles exceptional team. It looks like your safari (like ours) will be tough to beat. That said, we're going to try ... perhaps at Lemco!
Congratulations and thanks for providing such a well written report.

Tim HeraldAdam...I certainly hope we have that opportunity...
Big Bore...that is the plan...should be here any time...
Kim,
Same with my trip. Buzz showed me a lot of where Ron and Mike had taken things. You are correct that that one will be tough to beat. A lot happened on a 10 day trip there. I want to go back and hunt Makuti with Buzz as well.
Good Hunting,

jwmYou have my sympathies...it must have been tough to return to normal life after a hunt like that!

Fantastic report. I love the "real-time" presentation, really builds the suspense. A pity about the leopard trophy, but imperfect details like that are an important part of the overall experience and memory.
When you mount the skull on a plaque, maybe a bit of that lovely spotted hide could be inlaid around/behind the skull to make a unique mount. I'll bet a lot of taxidermists will be able to come up with special treatments that will maximize this trophy.
Congratulations!
John
