Haven't seen any posts or reports lately from Johan, Bahati Adventures, in Mozambique. Are there still around? Just curious.

I've heard that he has lost the Coutada 10 area in Mozambique the beginning of the year. And that there is no hunting been done in that area this whole year.

That what I heard so I dont now for certain so if someone could clear it up I will appreciate it.

Very recently Johan has told me he will not be continuing in the safari business in Mozambique. I'm sorry to hear that but so goes Africa. Please do not assume Johan did anything questionable but that he was the victim of circumstances generated by several entities that he had no control over. I wish him well!

i have a pretty good idea what those outside circumstances were and feel really bad for Johan. of 10 safaris in in 5 African countries, my Coutada 10 hunt was one of the top 3. how many outfitters would allow you to shoot a sable for no additional fee when your package included a nyala and you were having a hard time finding one? a good example of Johan's integrity. i wish him well in the future!

Johan has handed over his whole operation to Infinito Safaris, and is acting as a consultant for me, as, if, when and where his infinite wisdoms are needed (pun intended). He is, as Mark rightly points out, finished with the hunting industry.

Nothing sinister. Johan is just in a very fortunate position to do what he wants to do with the winter of his life.

And coming out on AR to explain this is one of the things he surely does not have to do!
