MARK H. YOUNGGreat Safari with Pro-Safaris Zim Aug '08
At safari's end we send our clients an evaluation form to fill out. Ron Ashanbaner who booked a safari through me with Pro-Safaris did not fill out the form but instead sent us the following. I thought some of the members might be interested in his thoughts.
The safari was a 2x1 10 day hunt for Ron and his son conducted in Charara on Lake Kariba.
"Everything was no less than a 10. Expect to see me book again.
Thanks for a outstanding trip.
RON ASHABRANER
HELENA, MONTANA"
I asked Ron if he would mind me posting his evaluation above. The following is his response.
"Not at all - this was my third trip to Africa and the best! Thanks to your suggestion to use this PH and his company - or by the way I didn't include the second animal photo which is attached. We moved camps to a second location after the buff were shot.
RON ASHABRANER
HELENA, MONTANA"

Bill CMark, what were the dates of their safari, and who was the PH? (a PH who also hunts Tanz perhaps?)
Good looking buffalo, I love the broken/chipped boss.

Bill CI thought they looked familiar, we met up with them on the drive (race!) to Harare, they got stuck at one of the road blocks and had to fork over some buff meat whereas Buzz charmed his way thru (well, he did offer some zebra which had been hanging at a leopard bait for 2-days!). We flew to Dulles, where they had another hop or two. They indeed seemed like they enjoyed themselves. The PH said he recognized me from my hunt in Lolkisale...small world.
EDIT - Mark, Nope, I know Wayne.

Must have been Wayne Clark. He worked for us in Masailand for a couple of seasons. Clients like him very much.

GatogordoWouldn't this be more appropriate in the "hunts offered" forum? If you want to advertise that's fine, but posting hunt evaluations for someone else is not hunt reporting IMO but advertising.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.
NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.
I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Frik is Norman Crooks son-in-law isn't he? Heard great things about both of them.

Die Ou JagterHad a good hunt with Norm last year, but was promised a video of my hunt (part of a promo DVD) just a small part but 17 mo later nada I don't know when they plan to use the DVD as it wasn't available in Dallas this year. Norm is a master on Leopard but I think the company has some logistics problems. I think the company is now owned by his sons-in-law.

Your right Pro-Safaris is sort of a family affair. We've had very good luck with them.

I guess anytime I talk about a hunt on AR it is an ad. These particular guys just tickled me because they had such a good time.
Most members seem to be very interested in pictures of nice buffalo, so I guess Bwanamich's pics of the great buff shot by TGTS is an ad for them? AR is full of ads of sorts.

Woodrow SMark, I see nothing wrong with the posting. You are correct, as many of us like seeing such nice hard bossed bulls taken. Anyone that has an opinion about anything is advertising something.

Oh, yeah. Just tickled, with no ulterior motives whatsoever. Just sharing for the benefit and enjoyment of your AR brethren, right? Sheeit.
Dude, you come across as one of the very few who sees AR as a free business cow to incessantly milk. A guy asks a question about a trip, and BAM, here's Mark like a dog on a friggin' pork chop. I hope you send Saeed a nice gift every year, seeing as you've made his site an integral part of your gravy train. Man, some people have no shame.
