ozhunterozhunters 2011 Northern Mozambique Safari
Spent a couple weeks hunting Leopard, Sable and Buffalo during July along with a week "ECO Safari" with Father, Brother and Mate.
Sadly no luck on the Leopard and sable but enjoyed chasing duggerboy.
Also spent an unscheduled night and day in Maputo due to "Moz Air" running out of Av Gas and to top it of, my rifles along with a Mates disappeared for seven days. Another case of "TIA".
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoy yours;
My Forth time to this area;
Loaded Toyota's for a few nights camping away from main camp;
Typical country on the way;
Setting Camp:
PH quarters (Yes there where Lion around camp!);
Beautiful along the Lugenda River. Similar looking to Manna Pools Nat Park;
Chatting with PH Stu Taylor;
New water Pan with Dad and Bro;
Buffalo in the Niassa Jesse;
Stu, Davie and Dad at the Luambezi/Lugenda confluence;
Klaus and Brian enjoying the Sundown;
Hanging a bait with Jean-Wayne;
Showing Dad my playground;
Buffalo with PH Mike Taylor and using a Custom 458Win with Woodleigh 480grn FMJs;
The Grin says enough;
Found this Bushbuck deep in the Riverine. Taken with Blaser 9.3x62 and 286grn Woodleigh Hydro bullet;
The area to the South that I was to hunt Leopard had quite a bit of farming with the overgrown fields full of the notorious "Buffalo Bean's";
Mate, Andrew with his Trophies taken with a loan rifle and PH Stu Taylor;
Sadly, Andrews two Chapuis rifles (in Calibres 470, 9.3x74 and 20ga) did not arrive until his hunt was over.

Tim HeraldGood stuff Adam! I killed my waterbuck in that area along Lugenda that you described like Mana Pools. It does look the same, beautiful. Great pix...

David HulmeWay to go Oz. You are a real hunter. So fine you could share this with your dad and brother. If you don't mind me asking, how many dagga boys have you shot to date?

Dead on - have sent you a PM....
Surprised you didn't connect with a Leopard considering Tim Herald and his buddies had them falling out of trees (it seemed like)!! Think they had one feeding at all times of daylight hours after they had all filled their tags.....guess that's just typical of Leopard!

bwanamrmWell done Adam... a nice old buff, that one! Love the drop of his horns.

Ahmed,
I just simply enjoy this area and what it has to offer. With a little of both southern and east African hunting experiences within a great wilderness area at an affordable cost. Also I enjoy hunting with my Zim mates including Stuart with whom I've enjoyed six Safaris with.
Oh, and I've added a little work on a couple extended trips over in the past.
BUT I do have plenty of other areas I wish to hunt.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.
