Kei River Safari's in the Eastern Cape
My buddy and I just returned from our first S.African safari. We had booked through Wade at Cross Hair Consulting. This was a hunt posted here on AR. The price was great, and I added 3 additional animals. Andrew Renton owner of Kei River and my guide Tyson were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The entire 7 day hunt went as smooth as could be. What a great time. Lots of memories and a strong desire to go back!!! From the time Andrew and his lovely wife met us at the airport, to the end of our hunt we were treated like family. I think the photos show that Andrew and Tyson would not let us shoot anything that wasn't a very good representation of the species.
We hunted with our handguns (bolt action, 15" barreled in .338 WSM) and it was quite a challenge but we got it done!
I hope you all enjoy the photos!!

Eastern Cape Kudu: 48 inches

Gimsbok: 40 inches female

My favorite, hunted all week for him, a 14 inch Bushbok

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Hunting with a handgun must add that extra little bit of challenge to a hunt. Looks like you held serve and did you part. Congrats on some great trophies!!!
