has any 1 here ever booked a hunt with ron young in texas he claims to have been in the booking buisness for 20+ years

just woundering he has some killer elephent hunting deals and was woundering what people thought of him.

I have no first hand experience with them, but a recent Hunting Report on Don Causey's website said this:

"I booked with Expeditons by Ron, but I would not recommend them."

That statement was made by Nick Lowe [email: nclowrider@yahoo.com]. He booked a 21 day safari in Tanzania. Why don't you send him an email and ask why he wouldn't recommend Expeditons by Ron?

Ron set up a hunt for me and did an excellent job. He even booked my plane ticket, so I got one stop service. His air ticket prices were lower than I could find elsewhere, by the way.

I know Ron Young as he lives in my town and I have taken care of him. He has sent me on three black bear hunts. I collected a 7 footer, a 6'8", two around 6 foot, a chocalte brown, and a beautiful red-orange-blond beast. He sent me on a whitetail deer hunt. He told me I would fill my tags and the ranch did not have monster bucks on it. This was fine as I wanted to deer hunt and fill my tags and I did! I was scheduled to hunt buffalo in Tanzania and due to drought, he was going to send me to Botswana for plains game. A few weeks before we left, he changed us to RSA due to trophy quailty. I had a great safari! This was September of 2001. I was there when 9/11 happened. Ron took care of everything, families made contact, and we got home on time. So, five trips, five good trips. I hear he is pricey, yet I collected quality animals that I wanted. He took care of everything and was a excellent source of info.

Ron Young and his staff made my Botswana Safari happen in grand style, great package deal, just what I wanted. He was recommended to me by a World Hunter who has done dozens of hunts in Africa, The Americas, Australia, Asia, Russia, and all the "Whatzitstans" you could shake a stick at. I think Ron Young knows what he is doing and pleases his clients in the overwhelming preponderance. There are always a few sour grapes in any bunch. I endured a foot and mouth quarantine in Botswana, but that too passed, and I got my trophies (15 months later ), but that was not Ron Young's fault.

Ron set up our 14 day hunt in Zimbabwe and it was outstanding! They took care of the airline tickets, before and after hotel reservations, and all gun import permits for South Africa as well.It was a perfect trip completely devoid of any problems.My wife loved it as well and never wanted to leave.

sorry for not getting back sonner i though this thread was dead i booked a 15 day elephant hunt with him for 05 with greg butler safaris in botswana man i cant wait
