Re: Back from the Zambezi Valley
I hunted the Chewore North in May of '91 and due to drought it was not very overgrown at that time. Leopard, Buffalo (2- 39 & 43)Kudu 57 1/2 and bushbucks and baboons and Impala (which don't always go down to the .375!) Did I mention the star of the safari... Klipspringer. A supurb area and I would imagine that it hasn't changed too much. Though I doubt you could still be charged by a Rhino as we were on day 5. Enjoy this most special of places, but watch out for the crocs!

Rock,

Yes, I was lucky enough to hunt with Big 5 back in October 2001. Ian Gibson was my PH and the weather was HOT! Your advice about hiking the hills is good. I put in a lot of hiking time on my last trip and you can not be in good enough shape. I need to get off my lazy butt and start running a few miles each morning.

Here are few photos of some of the animals I took:

I also took a nice waterbuck, klipspringer (my PH called it a "Monster" but it look only a bit bigger than my cat!), two impala, warthog, two baboons, kudu (56.5"), and quite a few catch and release Tiger fish.

Can't wait to get back. This time my friend N'gagi will be going with me. Hopefully the vegetation will be significantly diminished by mid August when we arrive. It will be strange for me to hunt there again when the weather is not +105 degrees.

Here is a photo showing how we dealt with the extreme heat in October

Looking forward to seeing some of your pictures.

N'gagi
I'll be hunting there with Shumba this August. Really looking forward to it. Besides the buffalo, what else did you see? When you say you went South for plains game do you mean RAS or down to Doma etc?

PLEASE post some pictures as soon as you can!

Any other advice?
