Les KosekHHK Safaris - Zimbo
G'Day Fellows !
Has anyone hunted with HHK Safaris in Zimbo lately ?
We are thinking of booking an PAC bull elephant with them in 2005. Any remarks on their reliabilty , quality of service etc details, success rate ?
Thanks,
Les Kosek

Greg RI hunted with them last year and have booked many hunters with them. I have never had a complaint. Their prices are fair and they don't hit you with a bunch of hidden costs. They also have some great areas. I am taking 8 clients to go hunt with them again in about 30 days.

shakariHHK run an excellent operation on good areas....... but anyone looking to hunt in Zim during 2005 and beyond must realise that they're taking a big risk on the political situation which may of course affect the hunting areas etc.
Certainly things won't get better during that time period and they'll probably get worse.

500grainsI looked into booking with HHK. They have a great reputation and are very responsive. I have heard that they are the biggest operator in ZIM and can cover you if something goes wrong. However, they are so big that they have lost the personal touch. Also, their prices, although not outrageous, were at the high end. Finally, they were proposing a hunt in a concession that some PH's said was overshot - but maybe that's just the competition talking.

Paul KI hunted with HHK in 2000. We did a Buffalo/Plains Game hunt with them. Grahm went above and beyond to see that our hunt was a good one ,but our P.H. was at best less than acceptable.I plan to hunt with HHK again, but I will hunt with Lou Hallamore and or his sons or Billy Lemon or not at all. Any ouestions ? Iwould be happy to talk to you about them. E-Mail me @

SpringI hunted with HHK last September and October and recommend them completely. Most of the best PH's in Zim work for them and they have the resources and concessions to make your trip a success. Their camps are great, the food you'll enjoy ideal, and their overall customer service will be hard to beat.

SpringEd,
Since you're going to Lemco later this year, here's a nice bull I saw there 7 months ago....

Spring
That is a great picture, sure hope there is one like that in Chewore this June.

SpringEd,
I can't remember the name of my camp but I think it was the Fimbiri Camp. You're high up on a hill that has a beautiful 360 degree view of the surrounding veldt below. Most of the terrain at Lemco is rather flat with a few sharply rising rocky hills sticking up every now and then. The bulk of where you'll be hunting is flat, though you may go up into some hills when looking for sable.
As for bass fishing, I never had a chance to do that though my PH and I had planned to do some fishing on my last day. I never got a sable or waterbuck on my hunt and was still hunting for them through the last day, so fishing got canned. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures to give you an idea about the terrain and the fishing:
Here's the
view from my room .
Here's a nice little
Lemco fishing pond. You can see several other pictures from Lemco if you take at look at the trip report posted in my signature here.
Hope this helps!

just luckyThanks for the pic. What was the terrain like, and which
camp did you use? Did you bass fish? What of the plains
game?
Thanks
