TP, I think there were grand expectations on the geese as we had a couple of extra picker ups with us this time. Perhaps Dig's goose shooting capabilities had given them all great hopes for the shabeen!!
Either way the geese didn't play ball this year and so we didn't get ours and they didn't get theirs!!

ManyatheloGreat pics, looks like you got the better of the Fowl!
Which area were you guys hunting?

Fallow BuckMany
We were hunting down in the Free state for the birds. Although I did have a day up in Mpumalanga where I shot my first Greywing with some friends.
Up there they do a shoot where you shoot 5 species of partridges/spurfowl in a weekend with some guineas thrown in. I'm hopng to go and do that next year as it was great fun for themorning I had with them.
For the main trip I use a lodge in Koonstad and the shooting is mainly close by although we do travel for two afternoons to try for the wildfowl.
It's alwayd fun chasing guineas round the boundry of De Beers diamond mines!!

Fallow BuckJeff,
We shot one or two....
Loading the Rockies
I think the best individual bag was 194 in just under three hours, with lots of centuries through the week.
I think Rock pigeons may well be in my top five most sporting birds to shoot.

PWN375I have shot every game bird except Snow Cock in the US and hunted Mexico and Argentina. Rockies in RSA are the most sporting bird I have ever shot. Hunting them was like playing golf, you are just never good enough to be satisfied.
