M82 or M99 Barrett Accuracy Question.
I know this is not going to be the easiest to answer but Id love any kind of insight. If one were to get either of the aforementioned 50 cal rifles, can anyone attest to the "loss" in accuracy by going with the semi versus the single shot? I know that the single shot should be more accurate by nature but is the semi that far off one did his part?

I have shot both rifles a fair amount, the 82 more than the 99.
The 99 was more accurate by a wide margin IMHO.

goneballisticM99 is a sub MOA rifle, 82 A1 is a 1.5-2 MOA rifle.
Consistent sub 1.5 MOA with an 82 requires a lot of work. I don't remember the exact group size, but someone shot a 5 shot, 1000 yard, 11.?" group at a FCSA match, and that would be considered exceptional.

snowymthunterTo oversimplify things, buy the M99 for accuracy but buy the M82A1 for pure shooting fun. Who needs sub-MOA when you've got a 10 shot mag???

There is not much better than touching off a round and hearing that 50 cal empty clang off the pavement next to you.

Can you guess which model I own?
Snowymthunter.... thanks for the input
I might as well have a fun gun, when your spending that much on a gun, might as well have the porsche thats on the lot.
