penrod72which contender trigger screw?
I'm trying to increase the pull weight on my T/C, which screw is the weight adjustment, the one more towards the muzzle or towards the back of the gun. Turning in or out to increase pull?

skb2706The set screw in the trigger pointing up adjusts only take up. The set screw in the back of the trigger guard adjusts only overtravel. Neither adjust trigger pull weight......to change that you will need to replace or change internal trigger spring. Not a user recommended modification. Contact Mike Bellm he can help you.
Curious why you would want to increase weight anyway........what is too light ?

penrod721.) Going from memory, I thought I had two screws on the top of the trigger- (and there is, but on my Ruger #1). I had searched for posts on triggers for contenders and thought I had a different gun than everyone else apparently. Looking at it last night solves the confusion for now.
2.) Want to increase the pull due to misfires only in cold weather (freezing)- the hammer will drop unexpectedly, being pushed onby hand, no finger on trigger and the pull is already very light on this gun. The gun does not fire, but it is disconcerting to say the least.
