Well, I think I settled on a hunting load for the 24" 25x30-30 IMP barrel. Using 33.5 grains of Re-15 under the Sierra 100 grain BTSP, I am getting 2828 fps at 15', and the worst 3-shot, 100 yard group so far has been just over a half-inch. The load is averaging in the upper .3s (average of 9 groups, so it's not a fluke). I want to do some long range shooting with this load, but the conditions are a little rough today.

But from what I've seen so far, I have to say I am really thrilled with this barrel.

Thanks, Match Grade Machine! I know I'll be ordering more of your barrels some day...

Bobby

Sorry...it's a Contender, and it's a 24" rifle barrel.

The website is http://www.matchgrademachine.com

Some of the folks who did the barrel work, etc., for Virgin Valley Custom Guns started up MGM, and from what I can tell, they are doing a stellar job.

By the way, the have some chambered barrels -- no wait time! -- in their inventory. I only paid $300 for this one, which I consider quite a bargain.

Bobby - you are supposed to post a picture of a loaded round ??

I will post a photo of a formed round and others for comparison as soon as I can. I don't do digital (actually DESPISE it), so my efforts aren't instantaneous.
