TCLouisWhere have all the TC
Shooters gone. This used o be a VERY active section in the forum and even though Bobby T and others are still here and respond to some subjects with their knowledge, this section just sits "abandoned" most days.

Bobby TomekI know a few went over to specialty pistols, but even those forums are, for the most part, rather idle. And I don't think anyone went back to the pond.

TCLouisI was just wondering about the lack of comments posted here.
I got chastised fro some real or imaginged infraction and removed myself from the pond.
As I remember it something about the switchover to Bellsouth.net cased problems I could never get straightened out in Specialized's forum so I have been hanging here and Cast Boolit group forums.
Some of the folks here and at Specialized were a wealth of information . . . of which you had a VERY broad knowledge of the varied chamberings and their performance that I found to be extremely useful.

700 nitroi just bought a brand new tc encore with a 15" 25/06 barrel and 15" 375 jdj barrel.

Bobby TomekLouis-
I, too, had a hard time and couldn't even log on for the longest time at specialty pistols. This went on for many months. Then one day, a friend sent me a link to an item he thought I may be interested in. I logged on and never had another problem. I do not frequent there often, but at least I now know I can log on without problems.
As to the pond, I am on the "banned" list. I don't even remember why anymore, but it more than likely had to do with the mention of the censored word ("Bellm") or not bowing at the throne of the self-proclaimed great one. I am told that even now, years after the great debacle, that the name Bellm only shows up as ***** when you type it in.

LfalerI have no idea why I don't come here much. I shoot more encore pistols that anything, but they are all big bore wildcats and I don't shoot anything smaller than the 416 gnr (although I have a 378 barrel that is waiting for a scope). I guess I don't really have much to post about, because I don't (and probably won't) own factory stuff except for maybe my smokepole barrel or a shotgun barrel. I lurk every once in awhile, but this is the only post I have made on this particular forum (I post mostly in the gunsmith or big bore forum I guess). I quit reading the GB forums because I got sick of reading goofy ass rants by certain administrative parties typing overly pedantic rants about how the BATF was going to come drag everyone away if they didn't follow every single rule to the letter and how certain peoples names couldn't be mentioned without getting you banned or kicked off.
After reading that diatribe, I'm sure you first question is "who the hell is this guy?" LOL

The "pond" I made reference to and the GBO you mention are one and the same. We all know who he is; what no one can answer, however, is how he maintains such a rabid following from a small handful of "members."

GrumulkinSo why is Bellm a censored word at GBO?
08 October 2006, 17:59
TCLouisGrumulkin
They got in some big urination contest over something and so the name is banned. At the time anyone who supported Mike Bellm got banned and so on over time. Then people got a email, PM, or banned for any infraction or statement that the site owner disagreed with. Hey, it is his site and so he can make any rules he wants to.

All of my barrels except the infamous one are standard chamberings.
Encore and NON TC chamberings would be great discussion fodder.

jshTClouis is correct. What it amounted to in a nut shell, two fellows met. One spoke the truth with a great deal of knowledge of said subject. When I say truth he spoke of what he saw, no sugar coating on his answers. There was also somthing to do with a barrel that was late or behind schedule, which happens to most smiths that are in demand.
The other fellow was a thin skinned wanna be dick tator'. Funny thing is, he has a son that is a fine fellow. I also got banned for some unknown reason. When I say unknown I mean I actually got a reply back from him. It said somthing to the effect that my name had some kind of flag by it and I was some what of a trouble maker, he couldn't recall for sure as he couldn't keep track of all the trouble makers. Thing is he HAD a pretty decent place until he got constipated and it all went to his head. He will throw numbers around, but that is about it, numbers. LOL, I still remeber the idiot that posted about shooting himself. It was just plain ignorance. I figure if I was ever to have somthing like that happen I sure wouldn't want to brag on the net about it

700 nitroi have a few hog hunts booked for jan and febuary and i have on each trip 10 animals on licences.
extra animals at aditional fees.
so between the two trips 20 pigs. thats alot of shooting.

NashcatLouis,
I still check this site a couple of times a week, but there hasn't been much going on. It seems that a lot of the TC shooters have gone over to the Specialty Pictols website. Since I started shooting Savage Strikers, I spend some time over at savageshooter.com for info on the left handed bolt pistols.

hikerbumUntil last year, most of NY state was limited to shotgun slugs and handguns for deer hunting during the gun season. Exception being the Adirondaks.
When the new inline muzzle loaders became popular, I think alot of guys went to them for gun season due to really nice accuracy (love my TC Omega). Then last year several other counties opened the gun season to centerfire rifles. I think some TC handguns, and alos revolvers have now gone into hiding, possbily only temporarily, due to the ML's and rifle options. Just a theory on my part.
That being said, I would someday like a TC pistol (not sure whether Cotnender or Encore) in 257 Roberts.

That may be true, but the accuracy of a muzzleloader can in no way compare to what a pistol can do. My top barrels cut ragged holes at 100 yards when I am up to the task and turn in superb performance at long range also, something the muzzleloaders can't hold a candle to. In fact, the Hornady SST ML bullet commercial brags about a 3.35" group at 200 yards. If one of my single shot pistols grouped this poorly, I'd be extremely worried.

casI check here once in a blue moon, and lurk and occasional post on SP.
I'm one of those NY'ers who when they changed my zone from shotgun to rifle last year, set aside the single shot pistols. Mostly because I have a lifetimes collection of rifles I've never been able to hunt with till now, while I hunted with handguns for many years. I'm sure the Contenders will see use again in the future, but for now they're collecting dust.

McCluraI check this forum almost every morning if I'm not on the road. Good stuff here. I also hit the SP site. I'm sure with hunting seasons here things have slowed some. It does it every year and it starts picking up when the game starts hitting the ground.
Old Fart, what caliber is the barrel on the flamed hood? I have been looking at OTT barrels and want a fluted/breaked barrel in some longrange caliber like the 6.5x284 or something like that.
Do any of you know anything about the 6.5JDJ? I'm working on a deal for one and think it will be a good longrange varmint/deer round.

Sean VHA #60013A lot of us who used to post here a lot have been plain busy! My schedule in the ER is pretty must insane these days

I mostly post here or at the Handgun Hunting forums. I left the pond and came over here shortly after the grand piss-ant had his little petty tirade against Mike Bellm.
I tried Specialty pistols, but it seems unless you pay over there, you do not have a lot of the same 'privileges' that others do.
For example, I cannot even send or receive a PM over there, and even though I have over 100 posts made over there, it says "under 20 posts" under my sign in name, which is intentionally inaccurate and comes across as quite petty.
If I coughed up the right bucks, I suppose I would be a triple platinum-scandium subscriber with a cute little yellow star next to my name, but I'd just rather avoid all the posturing and maneuvering for little stars and ratings by my name, and post elsewhere.
Don’t get me wrong, as there are a lot of nice folks over there who I respect as hunters, shooters, and TC aficionados, but overall that forum style [forums divided into a zillion sub categories with multiple hierarchical status levels for forum members] is just not my cup of tea, so I do not go very often. I really only go anymore to check out the classifieds section, which is the bright spot of that place to my thinking. Others love the whole place and delight in the ratings, stars, status, etc. To each his own.
I do anticipate posting over here more and over at Hangun Hunting, as this fall and winter will be the first season in two years when I will have the time again to sit own and do some serious hunting and shooting.
I have several customized TC’s, and also Desert Eagles and Glock pistols for both medium game and also Varmint hunting that I am really looking forward to putting through the paces.
I'd love to read here about what others are doing with TC's

LDHunterI haven't been around the single shot forums much lately either. I came out of retirement and got back into real estate sales just in time for the dang bubble to burst and the market to get flakey...

When Mike Smith over at Specialty Pistols started deleting my posts because I embarrassed Mike Sirois over the 500S&W deal I just decided it wasn't worth it. Besides there are just too many free boards to pay for access....

I predicted this loss of interest in single shots about a year ago... We're at a low ebb again but just like any cyclical thing it'll be back...

Anway... I still have almost all my handguns and still hunt with them a fair amount... I just don't talk about it as much because almost everyone has drifted on and it just ain't as much fun talking to the same 50 guys over and over again on several different forums.

Yep... I still hunt with handguns... In fact I took my Ruger Old Army for a stroll today...

Also today... I started reading Mark Hampton's book about handgun hunting for the third time and it's gettin' me fired up again.

My 15" 308 Encore pistol has only killed a hog and a few squirrels so far so I'm lookin' to blood it on whitetail which will come around Thanksgiving if I'm livin' right...

tommynSpecialty pistols got 100 new members in the last month so I guess its well and alive without Sean and blob. You don't have to pay to take part of SP and most that don't come back have embarrassed their self not OTT. Single shot pistols as a hobby is growing and growing. Honesty is a rule at SP and BS really doesn't get it. Handgun hunting is a blast and sharing real information from others and learning from real people is great. I come here some and enjoy it. I learn from most of the different forums here and for the most its a great site with lots one can learn.

Point 1. Do you claim AR is not subdivided? You post here often enough so it must be a major issue huh?
point 2,,,,
the classifieds....kinda self serving dontcha think? kinda looks like your only in it for yourself.
Nobody pays for access either,,,the subscribers are under no obligation and only donate to pay for the costs of keeping the site up and running. Bandwidth is not free and unlike here SP is not hosted by a rich arab.
Several forum leaders at Sp are not subscribers, nor are they pressured or required to be. SP thrives without either bob or sean's sphere of influence and innuendo of back room dealing.
Pistols are as popular as ever and the slowdown is only here.

Gee, and you don't stick a link under your post to try and sell "boolits" (I HATE that incorrect spelling, by the way). That's not self-serving, right???
And for the record, I go over to SP also -- just to see the classifieds.....

I forgot to add; Bob & Sean have been here a long time and have contributed a heck of a lot more to this forum than you will ever do.
Lastly, while my blood pressure is still up from your cheap shots, I must note that I shoot quite a few cast bullets (note MY spelling). I have pretty much tried them all, though I have never fired a "boolit" in my guns -- never have and never will as the incorrect spelling, whether intentional or not, makes me question the quality of the product and the competence of the maker.
But you don't need my business anyway. Stick that self-serving link under your signature wherever you happen to post and sell away.....

With the rare exception this site, SP and Handgun Hunter seem to have the most civil / adult and knowledgeable regular posters around on speciality handguns.
For example,(I don't mean to make your head swell Bobby

) I've picked up a lot of good info here by either corresponding with Bobby Tomek or by just lurking and reading his posts on different subjects.....he impresses me as being a real "Standup" type of fella.

Since when is it dishonorable to be rich??? I'm an American and everyone that I know admires the rich.

Also... I think it's in VERY poor taste to label Saeed as an "arab" or to hurl any racial slurs at a man that provides what is probably the biggest hunting forum board on the internet out of his own pocket with no hope of compensation other than thanks.
He brings it to us commercial free and without moderation except for the most extreme of infractions.
That, sir, was a pretty low class thing to say and it exhibits your ignorance and lack of consideration.

This is laughable. You obviously don't get it if you compare AR to SP.

AR has more than enough members AND MESSAGES to support all the subdivisions.

SP, on the other hand, could easily be contained in a handful of separate forums.
