FerdinandAny G2s available yet"
OK, the new frames are supposed to have hit the street by now. Anybody seen one yet? The dealer has my deposit for the first one that he receives, here in central Ohio. He's not sure when it will arrive, but believes that it will be soon.

SLVFXMike,
Are you ready to go with your fine line of trigger springs for the G-2 when they hit the street?

T/C nimrodI'm telling you guys - someone has to get a line to a major firearms publication to make this production happen!!! A little bad press is sometimes a good thing. I've written/emailed to Shooting Times and Handgunner, help me out here, I would like to see them out as much as anyone.... I'm willing to try and make it happen!

KENTNTCLOUIS- Your a few days late for the April Fools joke
Now if you did get it, did you order it from one of the Dealers here in TN or New Mexico?
I to have been waiting on one and have passed on several Contender Frames I found but now I'm wondering if I should pick up the next one I find....
Check this out.
http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/contenderg2.aspIn all seriousness, I think it's appalling what T/C is doing to the entire industry. My last remaining trust of their management is quickly slipping away. You simply cannot believe ANYTHING they tell you.

It must not be a priority for them to get it done. I wrote American Hunter Magazine after their G2 Carbine story & asked them, " How do you write a story on a firearm that does not exsist?" & why they would promote an item that the public can not purchase even if they wanted to. Needless to say I never got a response to that from the magazine or the NRA.

<rifleman>I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'd almost be afraid to own one of the first few off the line. What with all the delays, and problems and whatnot. Any other thoughts along that line? Am I all wet? I sure hope so.
I just got a used Contender with 2 barrels, and I'm EXTREMELY pleased with it so far. I can hardly wait for deer hunting this Fall!!!!

Here's my take on the whole Contender G2 thing.
Sometime after they designed the Encore, (a much simpler ie. cheaper design) they realized that they didn't have the profit margin in the Contender that they did the Encore. They thought "Hey lets up our margin by redesigning the Contender to use some Encore parts and make it less expensive to produce. Then we can go up on the price."
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking either type of design. I have an old Contender that I think is a marvel of design engineering and an Encore that is great in its simplicity. As far as the price increase, I can't complain, that's business.
All that said, I'd be willing to bet that the G2 will enter the market about like the Encore has. I bet they will have the same discrepancies in the hinge pin hole. I bet they could all use a trigger job, etc. However, I really like the look of the G2.
