I think the situation is more along the lines of "Going where there is no trail and leaving one." A Zen quote of interest here as well for Master Bellm: "When you meet a master swordsman, show him your sword; when you meet a man who is not a poet, do not show him your poem." Which reminds me, I'm about to pick up an extra .30-30 bbl and have both .30-30 and .30-30 AI (the new barrel is in with five others in a package deal so am not sure of its length but I have a 14"). So what's the best rechamber for maximum fun and games (I don't hunt anymore; just enjoy burning powder and wasting bullets)???
