olefishOne antelope down
The 20th my friend and I went for a hot hunt literally speaking 9o++ for antelope with our hand canons. He made a great shot on a 14.5"X14" antelope that has a second set of prongs. Granted they are very small but they are perfectly formed.
He made a nice stock and made an incredible 253-yard shot for a 1 shot kill, ranged afterwards with his leica 1200. He was shooting a savage striker in 308 win with 150gr win supreme silvertips and a Burris 4x scope. Me I just helped him since this was his second hunt and I am looking for a freak that lives in the same area. He was in hiding some place that I did not locate. With the high temps it is almost impossible to long range spot because of the heat waves coming off the ground so I guess I will just have to go hunting again.

I still haven't been brave enought to get out in this heat.

I live on the west side of the Cascades in WA state and the bear season has been open for about 3 weeks now. Maybe the second week in Sep? The blueberries should be nice and ripe by then.
