Re: Encore Pistol to Rifle
I bought an Encore rifle last Sunday. The buttpad has it quite legibly molded into it that federal law requires a barrel of 16" or more to be used with a full-length buttstock. The Contender/Encore system is designed to have barrels and buttstocks interchanged. It is up to the user to recognize that pistol barrels of less than 16" cannot be used with a buttstock. Just be aware of that and adhere to the law-- you'll have no problems.

I then got a 7mmBR, 22-550 and 44MAG barrel for the pistol Encore. I had the 45-70 for the Encore but I traded it for the 7mmBR pistol barrel.

When you have a moment please tell us more about the 7mmBR barrel. Do you handload for it? Have chronographed your work? Hunted it? Good hunting!

Yes, I am reloading for it. I am using 120 gr. Nosler Ballistic tips and 29.5 gr. of H332. I do not have a chronograph. I have not used it for hunting yet, but plan to. I shot it the other day and ran 50 rounds through it. It is a very accurate round. I had a 5 shot group off the bench I covered with a dime.
