I am using Lil Gun with a 158 Gr Montana Gold CMJ over 17.5 Grains of LIL gun with a Federal 200 primer. I haven't chrono'ed it but it shoots well. It works well on metal targets out to 100 Yards. No reason you couldn't substitute a 158 JHP in it's place. As with other loads start low & work up.

With hornady 158xtp's and ww296 I was knocking on the door of 30/30 performance through my contender,,Rather snappy recoil.I traded that barrel for a .45 colt barrel,,Much happier. Less recoil, picked up 100gr+ bullet weight,,Turned it into a 50 yd whitetail smoker,,most of them taken roud 30 yds.Clay
