I'm looking to buy a 375 JDJ. What I need to know is should I get one with or without a muzzlebrake. Also, which brake is the best. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Only problem with getting the barrel ported is noise. My 375 JDJ barrel is Mag Na Ported and it is LOUD! There is no recoil only a push back. I shot a barrel that has the SSK brake and it kicked about the same. Don't think you can go wrong with what ever brake you get but it is going to be loud.

If you're going to get the 375 JDJ in the handgun version, I'd recommend a brake. You don't really need a brake in the rifle version.

Guns are loud with or without brakes; you should use hearing protection with either.

I have a .375Win. with 10" barrel with the muzzel tamer and I wear a set of custom ear plugs with over the ear muffs at the same time and it is still LOUD!. Personaly when I use it for hunting I wear a pair of Walker Game Ears all the time or else risk breaking my ear drums.

What you may want to do is find someone that has one without a brake and see if they will let you fire off a few stiff rounds. If it bothers you, then get one with a brake, If it doesn't then get one without.

I've had my 375JDJ since 1988 with a 14" barrel without a brake. Now, I only use 235 grain speers, top loaded, and recoil is just a little more than a top loaded 44mag. If you can handle a 44 mag (hot) then the JDJ should not be much of a problem.
