drichiscope mount- 10" 357 herrett
Looking for suggestions for scope mount for a 10" 357 herrett bull barrel.I am going to mount 2x6 B&L 3200 scope. I have seen people talk about shearing scope mount screws on some 4 screw mounts.

Paul HI used a leupold dual dovetail 4 screw mount on my 10" 357 max with no failures, even driving 200 gr pills 1900 and change
As I recall, when I had a 10" 357 herret, I used a 4 screw weaver rail with 3 millet rings, and top loads were pushing 200 gr @ ~2000 fps.
No failures on either setup with a simmons 2.5-7 gold medal scope.

Magnum MikeAs Paul states, the Leupold dual dovetail mount should work fine for this application.

<Headstamp>Another one for the double dovetail mount especially in the tapering factory bull 10" tube. I have Factory bull with Burris Signature Rings in a Leupold mount. Holds very well.

JohnlyYet another vote for a Leupold double dovetail base and ring set-up. I have a 2X Leupold EER mounted on my 10" 357 Herret and haven't a bit of problems.

T/C nimrodWould the opinions change if that were a 14" barrel?

<Headstamp>Not really but you could go with a longer base due to the lack of taper on the 14" bull bbl as opposed to the tapered factory 10" tube.
The double dovetail would serve well with the longer tube also.
