500 S&W Elephant Stoppers

Here is some ammo that was designed to stop beasts that are determined to stomp you in the ground.

500 S&W Mag loaded with a 700 grain WFNGC hardcast bullet at 1200 fps. Recoil is a bit stout! But it hits harder on the other end!

Absolutely, with a little room to spare.

The largest slug I've seen for the S&W 500 is John Ross's 725gr monster and you can't go any heavier than that. It's practically flush with the end of the cylinder. I've been loading Ranger Ricks 700gr. "Tyrannosaurus Thumper" for a while and I really like the bullet. Here's a selection of some of what I've put through my 500's in the past 4yrs. The slug in the far right hand corner is the 700grainer.
