XProeXP Stock
I have what appears to be a Custom Shop wood stock for a center grip XP. At some point in time someone opened the barrel chanel and filled a portion of the rear action inletting in the area of the rear action screw stud and also bolt release area. I have carefully removed the filling material so a stock action will fit.
Anyone have a source for the rear action top downward screw stud/washer thing? I'm not sure of the correct name for this item.
I plan on using this stock for a 6BR project this winter. A macMillan or HS would be nice but I can't locate a used one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

xphunterXProe,
Remington or H-S Precision may have the part or know where to get one. If you do get a H-S or McMillian I would be interested in that stock (if it is ambidextrous) if you intend to sell it. I have an Center-grip XP in 250 Sav. Imp for my boy to use but it has the Zytel stock on it at the moment. All the rest of my XP's have H-S's left-handed stock and this will allow my son to have a better stock and still be an ambi for all to use.
There was a right hand H-S for sale about a month or so ago on VDK (Ron Sabo) web forum but that forum is no longer up.

XProeThanks Ernie:
The HS on Sabo's site was snatched up pretty quick. I think I was a couple days late on that one. I would prefer an HS but I'll use the walnut(?) one until I find and HS or Mac. I'll give one of those company's an email regarding the escutcheon. Ya know, there are LOTS of custom stock makers out there - tons of custom stocks for the rifle benchrest crowd. One would think that a wide flat forend benchrest style XP stock from one of the colorful laminates would be in their lineup. I wonder if they would make one on a custom basis? Price would probably exceed the Mac or HS. Anyway, if I decide to let the stock go I'll drop you a line. Thanks. Steve.
