Magnum MikeRe: 480 Ruger Encore
The 400 Lee runs 1400 fps outta my 9" 475 Linebaugh with Blue Dot (20 grains i THINK it was). I would imagine that i could surpass 1500fps with H110, W296 or Lil Gun but whats the point, nuttin on this continent needs that kinda power! LOL!

I figured I need at least one big bore

Me_PlatWhy don't you just go ahead and get something like a 50 Alaskan or maybe a 458 win Mag or maybe even a 470 Capstick and quit playing. If you want power go for it.
Then you will have something with one of these.

Me_PlatSEAN: Instead of him sneaking up on something powerful he should just tackle it and be done with it. Was I talking to you anyway?
Have you tried to get up off the bench yet?
You started it this time big boy. If you want to continue it pm me.

jabradyjrMan, that's a beautiful Pistol!

Thanks,
This caliber should work perfict for the thick cover and short range I plan to hunt. More then enough power to kill anything in the states for sure

I won't even respond to him Sean. Sooner or later someone will ban him. I know of one forum he'll never be on

475/480I have a TC Encore 10"- 480 Ruger barrel, iron sights and the 475 Linebaugh will shoot in it ,plenty of power and recoil comes straight back into the hand.

LDHunterSean,
How does it compare to 44mag with Contender max loads?
Or maybe how does it compare to 444 or 454 or ???
This cartridge and the 480 intrigue me but I'm such a recoil sissy...

475/480I only have a couple of TC Encore barrels 375 GNR and 475 GNR,I have not shot the TC 44 but I have to believe the 480 is a little harder. The 480 comes straight back

,the 375/475 comes up ,the 375/475 are 45-70 wildcats from Gary Reeder.
