Hornady 7mm 120 gr Single Shot Bullet is same bullet as 120 gr V-Max
Some of you may already know this but I called Hornady today and found out that the 7mm 120gr Single Shot Pistol bullet (#22811) has been discontinued. The 120 grain V-Max (#22810) is exactly the same bullet per their technician.

"Discontinued" may not have been a good choice of words. They have been the same bullet but marketed to different shooters with two different stock numbers. Actually the stock #22811 has been discontinued but the bullet is still available as the #22810. Clear as mud?

Thanks for the info. While I have a couple of boxes of the old bullet, I have been thinking about going to the VMAX. If they are now the same bullet, I suppose I can expect much the same performance. (?)

I should have asked, is the .308 SSP now the same as the VMAX as well? I shoot these in my .30 Herrett.

Give Hornady a call! It's a toll free number listed at their web site www.hornady.com. They were very courteous, professional and helpful.
